Morimoto Asia-Asian Restaurant-Disney Springs-Orlando, Florida
During our most recent trip to Walt Disney World in January 2026, we decided to arrive early and make the most out of travel day by spending some time at Disney Springs (highly recommended). Walking around and hitting the shops definitely worked up our appetites so we stopped by Morimoto Asia for an early dinner. Continue reading to learn about our favorite bites and to decide if this is a must for you and your family the next time you visit.

Ambience
The grand scale of the restaurant can be noted from the outside. Once we entered the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by the hostesses, and they accommodated our early arrival and had us wait momentarily beside the staircase. Our hostess got our menus together and then quickly escorted us up the stairs and to our table. Our table was a VERY tiny two top nestled up against the glass half wall overlooking the lower dining room.
From ironchefmorimoto.com “Morimoto Asia offers an entirely new experience for our guests, led by the creativity of Chef Morimoto, already one of the most inventive forces in Asian cuisine. Our culinary destination includes unique exhibition kitchens that showcase traditions like Peking duck carving and dim sum. Morimoto Asia’s eye-catching, 36-foot tall, two-story layout includes lounges, private dining spaces, and an exhibition glass encased kitchen that allows guests a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the culinary action. The second-level sushi bar and lounge have a separate entrance”.
There is a bar and a few tables behind the hostess stand where you can grab something while you wait for your table. Their Michelin sign is proudly on display for all to see.
In 2016, Morimoto Asia at Disney Springs was presented with the “Design Built Award of Merit” by the American Institute of Architects Orlando.
Menu
The service was incredible. Our server was Eric and he was personable, attentive, and friendly. When he came over to greet us it felt like we were on Disney property. He asked where we were from, if we had ever been and if we had questions about the menu. I had done a little research ahead of time but asked for his recommendations. He was knowledgeable about the menu, how things were prepared, and even shared the “spice” levels of things. He refilled our water three times!
This is the sushi menu of things that had been flown in that day!
The menu was large, so it was helpful to have Eric’s recommendations. Eric described the spice levels as “Disney spicy” and then gave us a 1-10 scale for each thing we discussed.
Lemongrass Chicken Dumplings $16
To start we ordered the lemongrass chicken dumplings. Eric poured us some soy sauce in little bowls (it was low sodium). They came out steaming hot and very quickly after ordering them! They had their own sauce, but you can see from the photo it was pretty skimpy (I am a sauce girl). Luckily the sauce was punchy, so you did not need much. It tasted slightly sweet (sweeter than soy sauce). You could really taste the lemon in them but not much else. The order came with 4 dumplings. They are made with chicken, sweet corn, onion, scallion, and lemongrass. Matt gave them an 8/10 but I gave them a 5/10.
Spicy Salmon Roll $19
I was still eating my second dumpling when the sushi roll came out. It was made with tuna, spicy mayo, and scallion. It was not very spicy at all (which I found pleasant). The rice was really sticky. Matt added wasabi to his soy sauce. It came with six pieces (which is a normal portion). The salmon was supreme and had no fishy taste or smell at all. It was nice but nothing spectacular. I would give it a 7/10.
Morimoto Spare Ribs $18 (Small Plates Option)
As we finished up the sushi the ribs came out. Everything I researched told me that the ribs were the star of the show and it was no exaggeration. They were INCREDIBLE. They are pork ribs and they were crispy and crunchy on the outside (like they were breaded) yet falling off the bone soft. The sauce was packed with flavor and was hoisin and sweet glaze. You could eat three or six (the six portion is under the Meat & Poultry section of the menu for $35) and we got three and were devastated we did not get six. One of mine had a little bit of grizzle on it so I struggled with that one a bit and passed it over to Matt and he gladly took care of it. Steaming hot little towels came out with them so we could wipe our fingers which was a very thoughtful touch. We give these a 12/10.

Eric cleared the table (which was alarmingly crowded at this point) and brought us fresh plates for dinner. The dumplings, sushi, and ribs came back-to-back to back, so we were slightly traumatized when it took a while for our main dish to come to the table.
Morimoto Gomoku Fried Rice $33
We had a hard time deciding what to get as a main course but ultimately decided to get the Morimoto Gomoku Fried Rice. It was notated as a chef favorite on the menu and contained the renowned Peking duck, chicken, Berkshire pork, shrimp, vegetables, and spicy house sambal. I was slightly concerned it would be spicy because when I asked Eric what the spice level was, he said 4 out of 5 so they put the sauce on the side. It was not spicy at all. The dish had a sort of lemony or curry type of flavor to it. I did not really care for it and did not think it tasted like “fried rice” that I was used to. I also felt like the texture was kind of soggy. Matt gave it a 4/10 and I gave it a 2/10. The only positive I can really give it is that it is definitely shareable for 2 people.
In Conclusion
Overall, we feel that if you are going to Disney Springs for a meal, there are choices where the food is tastier. The price is about the same as most places in the area, and the service was wonderful, but we checked it off our list and will try a different restaurant next time.
